About Eco Loft

Eco Loft is a sustainable tiny house, designed and built by Knut André Fiddan using materials from his own forest and recycled resources. The house has an area of approximately 15 m² on the ground floor and a loft. It is ideal for 2 people but can accommodate up to 4 people with an extra mattress in the loft and a sofa bed in the living room. The interior is made with entirely local natural materials and has a simple yet functional design that creates a cozy atmosphere. Eco Loft offers an intimate experience with direct access to nature while providing comfortable facilities.

Eco Loft is located at the forest edge on Fiddan Mini Camping, with a great view over the meadows and the farm. The mini camping site has 3 spots, and Eco Loft is placed on one of them. Outside the house, you’ll find a stone grill and benches and tables to enjoy meals. It’s a short distance to a swimming area in a quiet forest pond where there’s also a rowboat available for use. If you want to experience waterfalls or small bathing pools, you can follow Fiddan’s stream down the stream valley. Fiddan is surrounded by forest on all sides with great hiking opportunities.

The house is a perfect alternative for groups renting the Cliff Cabin, as it provides extra space and comfort. Eco Loft is especially recommended in spring, summer, and autumn. In winter, there will be no water access in the shower, taps, and WC, but it can still function as an extra bedroom for larger groups renting the Cliff Cabin

Price for Stay at Eco Loft

The daily rate ranges between NOK 1390 and NOK 1890.

For stays longer than 3 nights, a discount will automatically be applied, which is also specified in the overview.

Payment Deadline After Booking

For bookings more than 10 days before arrival – 3-day payment deadline
For bookings less than 10 days before arrival – Immediate payment

If you need split payment, you can pay 50% upon booking and 50% no later than 30 days before the check-in date. Contact us if this is relevant.

Note: If we do not receive your payment within the deadline, your reservation may be canceled without notice.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or withdraw from your stay, the following rules apply:

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival – 90% refund
Cancellation from 5–30 days before arrival – 50% refund
Cancellation less than 5 days before arrival – No refund

PayPal, Vipps, or other payment fees are not refunded.

Check with your travel insurance to see if the cancellation gives you any rights.

For gift cards, cancellation rules only apply if you have chosen dates for your stay.

If there are no other bookings on the relevant day, earlier check-in or later check-out can be arranged. Check our booking calendar and contact us the day before arrival to arrange this if you see availability.

Directions and Transport

Arrival by Car:

Directions from Konsmo (Spar store) up to Fiddan:

From Konsmo center, drive south on Fv460 for 3.5 km
Turn left towards Birkeland on Fv508 for 2.6 km
Turn right towards Havreseland for 0.8 km
Turn right towards Fiddan Eco Farm. Drive through a farmyard and up the hill to the right 50 meters past the barn

Arrival by Ferry:

Color Line and Fjord Line have several daily departures from Denmark to Kristiansand. From Kristiansand, you can take a train or rent a car.

Arrival by Plane:

Purchase a flight ticket to Kristiansand – Kjevik (KRS). From Kristiansand, you can take a train or rent a car.

Arrival by Train:

Train tickets can be purchased at Vy.no. We offer pickup and drop-off from Audnedal station. The train line runs between Stavanger and Kristiansand, and further to Oslo.

Key to Eco Loft

The tiny house is not locked upon arrival, and you can go straight in. There is no need for a key, but we have a key inside Eco Loft if you wish to lock it.

Sleeping Arrangements and Bedding

3 people, with the possibility for 4. There is a double bed with 2 comfortable mattresses in the loft (190×75 cm) and one on the sofa bed (200×75 cm). Additionally, there is a small extra mattress under the sofa bed.

Kitchen in the Tiny House

Eco Loft is equipped with a 2-plate induction cooktop, a small refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and a good set of kitchen utensils for cooking. Coffee is made in a coffee kettle or with a filter holder.

Kitchen utensils:

Pots, kettle, and frying pan
Plates, bowls, glasses, cups, and cutlery
Knives, wooden spoon, spatula, corkscrew, etc.
Sausage sticks and grill utensils for outdoor grilling

The tap water comes from a groundwater well and is excellent for drinking.

Heating, Lighting, and Electricity

The house is heated with an electric heater. Power and lighting are supplied via 220V. A wood-burning stove is planned but not yet installed.

Waste and Dishwashing

Please dispose of all trash before departure. Waste sorting is done by the wood shed. Food waste can be left in a bag next to the bin — it may become feed for our chickens or compost.

Please do the dishes yourself — dishwashing is not included in the cleaning fee.

Fire Pit and Firewood

The fire pit is located just outside Eco Loft and is the only place where fires are allowed. There is a grill grate, and grill utensils and sausage sticks are stored in the kitchen bench. It’s a cozy spot with benches and a table for enjoyable outdoor meals.

Please be careful with open fire and always extinguish it completely before leaving the area. If you are unsure about forest fire risk or fire bans, ask us before starting a fire.

We care deeply about protecting nature — use only firewood from the woodshed. Do not burn branches or anything from the forest behind the cabin. Please respect the natural surroundings and avoid damaging trees or vegetation.

Are Dogs Allowed?

Dogs are welcome, but they must be well-behaved. Dogs are not allowed in the sleeping loft or on the sofa! Leashes are required outside all year round.

Mobile Coverage

Mobile coverage at Eco Loft is limited, but Telenor offers the best reception.
